Precision Cutting – Brand Launch

? The Dream We were honoured to deliver a full rebrand for the fabulous Amanda and Josh O’Malley at Precision Cutting. This included logo and brand mark, collateral, signage, and website.

? The Recipe

The Precision Cutting icon has been carefully crafted to represent the quality and premium precision of the steel plate construction at Precision Cutting. The custom stylised ‘P’ icon creates a visual of cutting line work which represents precision, production, and excellence. These visual identities tie to the company values which are driven to achieve the best performance. The colours and gradient we have chosen are drawn from the tempering process. The rich tones of blue convey the feeling of stability, trust, loyalty, precision, and intellect. The full stop makes the brand name an absolute statement. It gives a feeling of assurance and confidence in the quality of their work.

?The Magic

The result is a brand that their whole team and community is proud of, and not to mention a handful of new clients!

*Consistent brand communication across all their collateral and channels

*Improved company reputation and visibility in the marketplace

*Ongoing access to support with all brand updates and marketing needs

4 reasons to have a website

When you are looking for information on a company, where do you go to look most of the time? If you answered Google, you join the majority of the population. Digital marketing mediums have taken off in popularity in the last decade and have become essential tools for all businesses. Below is a list of reasons you should have a website for your business:

  1. Accessibility: with a website, your business is accessible to the general public 24/7, often called your on-line shop window. Often people search for products and services they need outside of work hours. With a website they don’t need to call you; they can find out information and contact you via email when convenient to them.
  2. Visibility: when people type something into Google, such as local builders, hairdressers or butchers, the only people that will come up are people with websites. Without a website, you will not be seen but your competitors will be!
  3. First impressions are important: if a potential customer knows nothing about you, they will use a website to get their first impression and learn more about you. They will assess whether your website give the impression that you are trustworthy and credible. A potential client may also want to browse your product ranges and client testimonials before they engage your company.
  4. Sales / shopping cart: a website can also take on the role of sales person for you if you list products and e-commerce functionality is enabled. This can streamline your sales funnel and result in additional sales. It is also more convenient for people who are browsing your website who are looking to buy straight away.

All these reasons show the importance of a website but you should also keep in mind that you need to make sure your website is set up correctly and update it regularly to keep up with technology changes. This includes ensuring you have professional design, search engine optimization and that your website is mobile responsive (mobile phone usage now accounts for 69 percent of digital media time spent). At JFM Marketing + Design, we are experts at making all websites, whether you’re after a basic website or one with all the bells and whistles. Rakaia Island

At JFM Marketing + Design, we love creating websites for our clients. It has been with great pleasure to work with Rakaia Island to launch their fresh new website.

Rakaia Island is a large, family-owned farming operation with over 50 staff and 9,000 cows, in two locations: Rakaia Island near Southbridge in Canterbury, and Woodstock near Oxford.

When Rakaia Island asked JFM to design and build a new website for their business, the brief was to create a website that was clean and contemporary with an ease of navigation and to reinforce their passion for simple, sustainable and safe farming practices.

To make the website fresh and modern we used features such as icons, parallax images, flip boxes and image hover effects to make the website more interactive and interesting for the user.

Rakaia Island also wanted to promote employment opportunities for their company. We created an employment page that uses an application form with a CV and covering letter upload. This page also showcases current job vacancies.

Another important feature for Rakaia Island was to have a staff login area. This is where employees can login into a secure area of the website and download important information such as contact lists, health and safety forms, farm maps etc.

Beautiful bespoke garments by Christine Reeves

One of our clients, Christine Reeves makes the most exquisite wedding dresses for all types of wedding themes and personal style preferences for brides from diverse cultural backgrounds. As we got to know Christine, we got to see her passion for her craft and how much pleasure she gains from seeing that special smile on a brides face when they try on their dream wedding gown for the very last time before their big day. Christine also creates bridal party outfits and bespoke corporate wear.

During our consultation, we were briefed to create a digital strategy for Christine, give her some pointers and to consider her audience. We started by assessing the photography she had on hand and selecting those that showed her range of talent, as well as the diversity of her audience.

We dedicated a page to “the journey”, which explained the thorough consultation process that occurs over several weeks between Christine and her clients. This can include Pinterest boards, family members, swatches of fabric and magazine clippings. Christine also sources her own fabrics and laces from master textile producers from all over the world.

JFM Marketing + Design thoroughly researched keywords, to ensure that the website lists well. We wanted to make sure we really captured the essence, talent and dedication to customer service offered by Christine. Our design needed to be clean, fresh and classic to emphasise the high quality, unique products hand tailored by Christine. A new fresh brand and website for Paveco

Paveco offer high quality concrete products to clients and pride themselves on customer focused professionalism. When engaging JFM Marketing + Design, Paveco explained that it was time for a refresh. They were looking to develop a new modern brand that looked fresh, streamlined, memorable and made a statement in the market. The new brand had to still have connections to the original brand, so as not to confuse existing customers and to respect their 14-year history.

Considering these requirements, our creative designer modernized the font selection and introduced a new primary colour; rose gold. This colour represents classic elegance, sophistication and high quality finishes. The new logo and branding presents a professional, polished and contemporary face to the market. The font of the logo was still in uppercase to link it to the previous logo, and the tagline “Concrete, it’s what we do” was added to clarify the offering to new clients. Their original orange was considered and the new rose gold colour was the new rich, evolved colour.

A suite of new materials was created to support the launch of the new brand identity. This included new vehicle signage, building signage, stationery and a new website.  These items all rolled out as one for a seamless process and hit the market at the same time. The website was designed to reflect their brand, quality products, values and their client-centric approach to doing business. A simple envelope is shown on every page which expands when clicked, making it easy for potential clients to get in touch. McIntosh Painting website

Our latest website build and design, completed for McIntosh Painting, has recently launched. McIntosh Painting is a relatively new member of the McIntosh Group, along with McIntosh Builders, McIntosh Commercial Construction and McIntosh Precast Limited. McIntosh Painting Ltd directors, Alastair, John and Leticia McIntosh saw an opportunity to add painting to their construction industry services, as it allowed them to complete the wider service offering available.

We received the brief that the client wanted to build website presence and promotion to establish themselves in the Canterbury market. There were several great photographs of the team and recent work they had completed which we could showcase through large hero images, parallax images and a home page slider. These types of image styles provide more energy, interaction and a positive user experience.

JFM Marketing + Design created a responsive scrolling single page website for enhanced user experience showcasing the businesses various painting services. We designed the website with “responsive design functionality”, to make sure it presented well on tablets, phones and desktop computers.

At JFM Marketing + Design, we pride ourselves on delivering great materials to support the goals of any sized business. If you are looking for a website that will help you to promote your products and services, please call us to arrange a consultation.

Scott Simpson

Scott Simpson Contracting owned by Scott and Lisa Simpson provides high quality agricultural services to the North Otago area.  We were contacted to design a fresh brand identity (logo) and create an effective website to promote the company’s contracting and straw trading services online.  As it was peak season and there was a need to quickly advertise the feed for sale, we were tasked to provide these assets within a short time frame.

Our brief was to creatively design a logo and supporting icon element which would be clear and easy to read on machinery and edgy.  To achieve this, font selection was critical, along with branding colours that complimented the agricultural industry and resonated with their loyal client base.

Like many contractors, their modern fleet of machinery travelling around the local district is one of their most effective forms of marketing to prospective clients.  So for Scott Simpson Contracting, the application of their brand livery on vehicle and signage was of most importance.  Our creative designer Justine Tull kept this core requirement in mind to develop a clear and solid icon, to suit the hard working equipment and quality services provided. We designed an icon that represents a stylised wheat head and also represents tractor tyre marks.

The Scott Simpson Contracting website needed to showcase the extensive range of contracting services they provide and showcase “feed for sale” including quantities and specific product details.  This functionality allows a customer to search of the type of feed they are looking for from anywhere in New Zealand and for an enquiry to be sent through to their Operations Manager, who will discuss their order along with freight options.  With the rural audience varying in age demographic, a sleek, clean and easy to navigate website was designed using the bold colours from the logo, along with the angles of the icon.

Large hero images and a gallery showcasing the up to date equipment used are featured on the website.  As with all our websites, this one has a “responsive design” which ensures the website looks great on a PC, tablet and phone.

At JFM Marketing and Design, we can help businesses of all sizes with their marketing requirements throughout New Zealand.  If you need a logo, website or any marketing collateral to promote your business, give us a call!

Geradline Summer Fete…

Geraldine Summer Fete…

The number one day out in South Canterbury is the Geraldine Summer Fete, located at the spectacular Stover Farm just on the outskirts of the small boutique town of Geraldine. The fete provides a unique selection of 150 gorgeous and amazing stalls showcasing products from around New Zealand, as well live music and a fun relaxed atmosphere. JFM’s brief was to create a website that was fresh, vibrant and showcased all the wonderful stalls which will be attending the fete in November 2015.

JFM chose a clean white background to give a fresh wholeness feel to the website to make customers feel welcome and enticed to read more. In order for the website to reflect the fun and vibrancy of the event, imagery often speaks louder than words. The rotating image graphics on the home page are in full colour to showcase the Geraldine Summer Fete bustling with people, laughter and fun. We also designed icons for each of the different categories under stallholders to aid navigation and add extra depth to the brand identity.

LADIES, make sure you LOCK Thursday 5th November 10am – 4pm into your diaries to attend the Geraldine Summer Fete.
