It's all new!
It’s been a transformative few weeks for the guys at Enviroline Solutions.
One day, they were known as Canterbury Environmental Liners, and then in very little time at all, there had been a total new image created.
The rebranding involved a new name, Enviroline Solutions, and included a professionally designed logo, website, display banner, PowerPoint layout, presentation folder, product fliers and business cards.
All in all, a total makeover for Enviroline Solutions, which reflects the increased variety of enquiries they are fielding.
The next step on their exposure ladder was exhibiting at their first major trade Expo, the National Irrigation conference in Christchurch, where they displayed all their new collateral.
The change of branding has not only allowed Enviroline Solutions to increase their profile, but also their product offering, from solely supplying Geosynthetic liners, but to stocking and installing sealant granules, and the other potential products that are in the pipeline.
It all goes to show, just how fast Enviroline Solutions, with the help of JFM, is moving to improve practical storage solutions for farmers.
Visit Enviroline Solutions new website, or call Tim or Simon to talk about your requirements and the information you require regarding water storage solutions.
HUBBARDS GOES PINK

HUBBARDS GOES PINK
Visit this link and see the roller on TV One News - Sunday 17th Jan 2010 http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/farm-machinery-in-pink-ashburton-3331220
Real men may wear pink and, if Hubbards Cultivation has any say in the matter, they will also utilise pink equipment, in the form of one of its Folding Cambridge Rollers.
Hubbards Cultivation has made a statement, one it hopes will make a difference. The Mid Canterbury-based business has painted one of its Rollers an eye-catching pink; they are taking it to the 2010 Southern Field Days, held in Waimumu 10-12 February, where it will no doubt feature prominently. It is hoped that it will attract enough attention to provoke numerous sales, always a good thing, but even more so when $1000 from each Roller sold will be going to The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Co-owner, Ian Prime, was exploring novel and attention grabbing ideas for Hubbards’ Southern Field Days site, and had the thought of painting one of their Rollers a bright pink. Further discussion saw the idea evolve and the connection to The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation was a natural one.
With one in nine New Zealanders affected by breast cancer, Ian and co-owner Vince Rietveld decided to donate $1000 from every Hubbards Roller sold for the entire month of February 2010 to NZBCF. “We knew painting one of our Rollers pink would attract attention and thought it would be a great way to defer some of that attention towards a great cause.” It’s a cause that is close to the heart of both Ian and Vince, with Ian losing his mother to lung cancer seven years ago and Vince’s mother succumbing to breast cancer, passing on ten years ago.
“As soon as we thought pink we realised how great it could be for NZBCF. Charities really suffer when times are hard, so it would be brilliant to generate a significant contribution and increase awareness of the cause,” says Ian. Having donated at various times in the past, the Hubbards team are looking forward to applying this much more direct approach.
As one of the top retailers of agricultural equipment in New Zealand, Hubbards will attract a number of potential customers to its Southern Field Days site. Held from 10-12 February, this is a major agricultural event that is held every two years in Waimumu, near Gore. Hubbards Folding Cambridge Rollers are a sought after item, delivering numerous benefits. A high quality piece of machinery, it has superb longevity, is easily transported, handles a high workload, is low maintenance and comes with the high level of support that Hubbards is renowned for. There are a wealth of colour options available – including a bold and beautiful pink.
Executive Trustee of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, Heather Shotter is impressed with the Hubbards initiative. “It is great to see a business driving awareness of breast cancer at the grass roots level in local communities. This eye-catching roller is an original device to highlight the incidence of breast cancer in women, and in men, as 20 men per year are diagnosed with the disease in New Zealand.”
During the three day event Hubbards will also be running a competition, for $1 entrants can suggest a quote or tag-line that supports the pink Roller. All entries go into a draw to receive a $250 Hubbards voucher and all proceeds will be added to the funds gathered from Roller sales and go direct to NZBCF.
To enter the competition visit their site at the Southern Field Days, call and see them in-store or follow this link to their website at http://www.hubbardsmachinery.com/latest-news/
Local Business Excellence Rewarded
Local Business Excellence Rewarded
Local business, Hubbards Machinery, has recently enjoyed accolades from one of their franchise businesses, receiving the Can-Am New Zealand Marketing Excellence for 2009. Hubbards Machinery Co-Owner, Vince Rietveld, travelled to Moreton Bay, just off the Brisbane coast, to accept the award on the company’s behalf. Hubbards Machinery received the annual award for marketing excellence on demonstration days and for securing corporate clients.
Hubbards Machinery’s Can-Am range includes quad bikes and the eye-catching Spyder Roadster. A campaign was developed to promote the Can-Am ATV’s, incorporating brochures, posters and advertising. A new addition to the range is the Spyder: a machine worthy of the attention. With an ATV-like chassis that sits on three wheels – it can be driven on a car license – the Spyder combines the sleek lines of a sports bike with the
comfort of a cruiser. The Spyder has traction and stability
control as well as antilock brakes. It also has a true reverse gear and power steering. Luggage space under its ‘hood’, along with saddle bag and top box options, make this a superb vehicle for those travelling to overnight destinations. Perhaps one of its most appealing features is its look – the Spyder has become a must-have for many collectors and for those simply looking for a bit of fun.
Mr Rietveld and fellow Owner and Director of Hubbards Machinery, Ian Prime, were naturally excited about receiving the award, pleased that their promotional efforts were noticed and acknowledged.
Hubbards Machinery has been operating since the 1980’s, initially under the guidance of its founder, local man Colin Hubbard. The company has grown from strength to strength over the years: it has become the local -port for numerous agricultural equipment and outdoor power equipment franchises, including Can-Am, Agrisem and NRH; it has developed and established its own cultivation equipment brand, Hubbards Cultivation, which caters to specific agricultural needs around the world; and last year opened the popular Stihl Shop on its Ashburton premises.
The company has a reputation for staying abreast of ground breaking industry technology, their own research often cutting edge itself. Numerous clients have reaped the benefits over the years. Key to this success is
continued emphasis on research, development and training.
An innovative approach is one Hubbards Machinery has become renowned for, the Can-Am Marketing
Excellence award is further indication of Hubbards’ clever and considered business practices.
Hubbards Machinery has been providing solutions to the New Zealand agricultural industry for over thirty years. We know the New Zealand market; we know you have specific requirements. Hubbards is established as a leader in agricultural machinery, manufacturing and retailing brands that get results.

PRESS RELEASE -
Jo Foster Marketing opened the doors to its new offices above the Ashburton Post Office, Thursday 5 November, 2009. JFM celebrated with a function that allowed nearly seventy of its customers and business associates a chance to acquaint themselves with the fresh new look. Many of those present had memories of the space when it was used by the Post Office in the 70’s, hardly recognising the completely transformed top floor.
It was a dual celebration, with the business enjoying its 3rd birthday. Local woman,Jo Foster, started her marketing and advertising consultancy in November, 2006. “I felt there was a need for a specialist advertising and marketing consultancy in the area, a place businesses could go to and receive advice and guidance in a field they didn’t have a lot of knowledge about themselves.” Certainly it seems she has filled a niche, right from the start her business attracted clients from wide and varied industries. Today, Jo’s role has evolved from being the sole contributor to having a team of four with two other part time staff. Staff numbers necessitated the recent move. “The growth has been very healthy; the past few years have really just backed up my belief that people were seeking professional help. When you run a business you can get caught up in, and caught out by, the world of marketing, when you really want to be able to focus on what it is you do well. Jo Foster Marketing is quite simply a service that allows business owners to do that.”
In the last twelve months Jo has noticed that local businesses are becoming more interested in planning and strategising their goals and growth. “Business owners are now quite keen to plan a year of advertising rather than employing an ad hoc approach, such as when things seem slow or because they have decided to run a special. Signage and branding is not a last minute thought anymore, businesses are definitely applying a more considered approach to their marketing and advertising, which is great because marketing tools have a far greater effect when they are part of an overall strategy.”
JFM has also noticed that local businesses are more and more interested in developing a web presence. “We have assisted a number of clients in the last few months. The cyber world is too big a presence to be ignored and many are beginning to recognise that embracing it brings a wealth of benefits to their business.” JFM’s updated website www.jfm.co.nz reflects local trends and needs, offering a deeper understanding of the marketing and advertising world and how businesses can maximise various mediums.
There is some irony in JFM’s new location - the space that was once integral to delivering messages is again a part of spreading the word, albeit through slightly different methods.

SPOTLIGHT - Cool & Electrical

SPOTLIGHT - Cool & Electrical
It’s always good to know someone who can fix things,
especially when those ‘things’ are crucial to your livelihood. So it’s no surprise that Hamish Thornley is a fairly popular man. Hamish owns
and operates Ashburton-based business, Cool & Electrical. The company is
considered an expert in automotive electrical and air conditioning service and repair work, assisting a variety of individuals and businesses throughout the region.
Cool & Electrical has a skilled team that know their stuff. With a large number of clients in rural Canterbury, the business has established a solid reputation for its knowledge of agricultural machinery (in particular the equipment and brands Cantabrians favour), also delivering sound service to cars, trucks, ride-on mowers and more.
Hamish has made sure he and his team stay abreast of industry developments, honing and developing their diagnostic skills on a regular basis via numerous training courses. Cool & Electrical are also members of YES! Automotive Diagnostics, a network of top level specialists. What this means to Hamish’s clients is that no matter what the problem is, Cool & Electrical have access to the skills that can fix it.
Having recently updated and developed his signage, collateral and promotional material with Jo Foster Consultancy, Hamish has made sure that he presents his business professionally in the current market, aware that
these tools will help define the company’s future.
Hamish says to his clients “you are only a phone call away from getting on with it”. With servicing provided either on-site or in the workshop, along with Cool & Electrical’s provision of an on-call service, clients really can rest assured that they are in good hands.
SPOTLIGHT - Sebco

SPOTLIGHT - Sebco
This specialised company in diesel storage & dispensing manufactures and sells fully bunded diesel stations as well as waste oil tanks. By providing huge cost savings by minimising fuel theft and tracking diesel usage per vehicle Sebco has become a market leader. Their stations are scattered all over New Zealand because of their advantage through innovation. As a multi-award winning company they’re also proud of their clients protecting nature from diesel leakages.
How does Sebco make their brand work?
Being a nationwide known brand means they have to communicate to potential clients being wide spread. What better way to do this but to regularly advertise all over New Zealand in specialised newspapers? But it actually starts before the print advertisement. The business strategy is well defined and specified so their goals are set. It gives them the ambition to not only be present nationwide but also portray themselves as that strong corporation. Their overall look is “corporate streamlined” giving them that professional company look. Because of their strong products they can really underline the benefits for the potential client. Sebco really understands that talking to different clients means you might have to shift your message focus. A farmer, a lifestyle farmer, contractor or fuel supply company - like Southfuels and BP - find different things important in using Sebco’s products. And they actually adapt their print ads focussing once on the anti-theft benefit, then on the traceability or also on the waste through leakages and give it an environmental twist.
They have the diesel locked but not their marketing vision.
SPOTLIGHT - LEMACON

SPOTLIGHT - LEMACON
This company gives people the power. The power to work and the power to live, all through the power supply.
Many of the irrigation systems and dairy farms that are up and running are Lemaconized. Meaning; the conversion was done with technical competence in cabling, skilled workers and cost effective power supply designs.
This crew tabbed in to the needs of Canterbury and North Otago farmers and developed a pro-active electricity service that takes care of them. They’ve put the personal and human touch back into a “serious corporate industry” using marketing tricks. Let’s reveal some of those.
This is a company that isn’t afraid of trying new things. It was bold of them to leave the serious style behind. They keep the seriousness in their work, not their marketing.
A more relaxed style is created by the streamlined illustration of a power pole worker. Yes, taking the focus a bit away from the danger and more onto style.
They’ve installed a friendly feel to their marketing tools by concentrating on images instead of technical lectures. Their pictures say more than a thousand words – a completed farm conversion, replacing old power poles and on-property lines, etc. They don’t explain how power connections work, they show you that they make it work.
Another way of convincing possible clients about themselves is at tradeshows & special events. Thanks to their big “branded marquee” they stand out, to make others walk in.
To see the light, switch on that Lemacon power, whether it’s their electricity or their marketing.
